
Massage should not be performed at all:
– Contagious and infectious skin
– Conditions and diseases – Fever and/or flu with high temperature
Massage can still be performed over the rest of the body, in case of:
– Bruising, inflammation, pain, cuts, abrasions, sunburn, scar tissue, tenderness, oedema, allergies/skin
– Sensitivities, hernia
– Recent fractures, strains or sprains
– Major or minor surgery (within the last 18 months)
– Areas of localised contagious skin disorders (e.g. verucca, athlete’s foot, psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis)
– Varicose veins
– The abdomen during the first 03 months of pregnancy
If you suffer from any of the following conditions, you should speak to your doctor first:
– Heart or circulatory conditions, high or low blood pressure
– Cancer
– Osteoporosis
– Diabetes
– Asthma
– Kidney infections/disorders OR any other ailments of the internal organs
– Nervous or psychotic conditions, epilepsy
– HIV or AIDS
